Agreement and acceptance
This Professional Agreement governs your participation in the Fixa trust network as an independent professional.
By accepting this Agreement, completing onboarding, accepting a job or providing services through Fixa, you agree to follow these terms and any job-specific scope, price, safety requirement or operating instruction communicated before you accept a job.
Do not accept this Agreement or a Fixa job if you do not understand or agree with the applicable requirements.
The Fixa trust network
Fixa helps customers connect with vetted independent professionals and supports clear communication, documentation and accountability throughout a job.
Depending on the job, Fixa may collect customer requirements, identify a suitable professional, coordinate communication, document the agreed scope, support payment administration, track progress and assist with complaints or remedy discussions.
Fixa is building a trust network, not an open directory in which anyone may list themselves without review.
- Professional participation is subject to vetting and continued good standing.
- Fixa does not guarantee that any professional will receive a minimum number or value of jobs.
- Fixa may consider skill, location, availability, performance, risk and customer needs when assigning opportunities.
- Fixa does not technically certify or inspect every job unless an inspection service is expressly included.
- Every professional is expected to help reduce uncertainty for the customer.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter into agreements and genuinely capable of performing the services you offer.
- You must provide your true name, current contact details and accurate identity information.
- You must disclose the trade or services you are qualified and experienced to perform.
- You must provide any licence, certificate, registration, reference or proof reasonably requested during vetting.
- You must tell Fixa promptly if information previously supplied becomes inaccurate or outdated.
- You must not impersonate another professional or allow another person to operate using your approved profile.
Vetting and verification
Fixa may review identity documents, experience, qualifications, references, previous work, photographs, customer feedback and other information relevant to professional suitability.
Verification means that Fixa has completed the checks it considers appropriate for the current stage and category. It is not a lifetime guarantee, technical certification or promise that every job will be defect-free.
- You authorise Fixa to contact references and verify documents you submit.
- You must cooperate honestly with reasonable follow-up checks.
- False, altered, borrowed or misleading documents may result in immediate removal.
- Fixa may repeat or expand checks where risk, regulation or customer safety requires it.
- Verification status may be suspended while a serious concern is investigated.
Independent professional status
You participate as an independent service provider and not as an employee, partner, representative or agent of Fixa.
You may accept or decline individual job opportunities and may provide services to other customers or businesses, subject to your obligations for jobs accepted through Fixa.
You are responsible for deciding the appropriate technical method for carrying out accepted work, provided that you follow the documented scope, applicable law, safety requirements and recognised professional standards.
Nothing in this Agreement overrides any legal classification or right that applies because of the real working relationship and applicable law.
- Fixa does not guarantee continuous or exclusive work.
- You remain responsible for your own business organisation, taxes and operating costs.
- You normally provide and maintain the ordinary tools required for your trade unless the job states otherwise.
- You may not enter contracts or make promises in Fixa’s name without written authorisation.
- You may not represent yourself as a Fixa employee.
Availability and job offers
Fixa may contact you about a job based on the information available at the time. Receiving an opportunity does not require you to accept it.
Before accepting, consider the location, travel, scope, safety, timing, materials, payment and whether the work is genuinely within your competence.
- Respond within the requested period where reasonably possible.
- Do not accept a job that you cannot safely or competently perform.
- Do not accept overlapping jobs where this is likely to cause serious delay.
- Disclose relevant limitations before accepting.
- A job becomes your responsibility only after assignment or acceptance is confirmed.
Scope, inspection and quotations
You must review the available information carefully before confirming a quote or beginning work.
Where the site condition cannot reasonably be assessed remotely, explain that the initial price is an estimate subject to inspection.
- Describe clearly what labour, materials and outcomes are included.
- Identify important exclusions, assumptions or access requirements.
- Do not deliberately underquote in order to secure the job and then pressure the customer into an avoidable increase.
- Explain material risks or uncertainty in plain language.
- Where possible, record measurements, findings and proposed work before starting.
- Do not begin extra work without appropriate customer and Fixa approval.
Changes and additional work
If you discover hidden damage, additional faults, unsafe conditions or work outside the original scope, pause and explain the issue before continuing.
A material change to price, timing, materials or scope should be recorded and approved through the Fixa process or designated communication channel.
- Do not assume silence means approval.
- Provide photographs or other evidence where this helps explain the change.
- Separate necessary additional work from optional improvements.
- Do not use an urgent or partially completed job to unfairly pressure a customer.
- You may decline to continue where the customer refuses a necessary safety measure or lawful change.
Attendance and punctuality
Arrive at the agreed location within the communicated time window or notify Fixa as early as possible if a delay occurs.
- Confirm important access details before travelling.
- Do not repeatedly accept jobs and fail to attend.
- Provide an honest estimated arrival time when delayed.
- Do not send an unapproved substitute in your place.
- Tell Fixa immediately if you can no longer complete an accepted job.
- Leave the customer with a clear update before departing from an incomplete job.
Customer care and professional conduct
Every customer must be treated with dignity, patience and respect. High standards are required, but arrogance, intimidation and toxicity are not accepted.
- Communicate clearly and avoid unnecessary technical language.
- Do not threaten, harass, discriminate against or insult a customer.
- Do not attend a job while impaired by alcohol, illegal drugs or another substance that makes the work unsafe.
- Do not smoke inside a customer’s property without express permission.
- Do not make sexual, romantic or otherwise inappropriate advances.
- Do not bring unrelated people to the property.
- Do not photograph people or unrelated private areas without a proper reason and permission.
- Do not remove, borrow or use customer property without permission.
- Keep disagreements calm and involve Fixa before the situation escalates.
Safety and high-risk work
You are responsible for performing work safely and refusing work that is outside your competence, unsafe or unlawful.
Electrical, gas, structural, security, plumbing and other high-risk work may require specific qualifications, testing, approvals or inspection.
- Use appropriate protective equipment and safe working practices.
- Secure tools, ladders, exposed wiring and hazardous materials.
- Keep children, animals and unauthorised people away from dangerous work areas.
- Do not bypass safety devices or conceal a serious hazard.
- Stop work if conditions become unsafe.
- Inform Fixa and the customer promptly about a material safety concern.
- Do not claim to hold a licence, qualification or authority you do not possess.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, property rules and manufacturer instructions.
Tools, materials and transport
Unless the job states otherwise, you are responsible for providing and maintaining the ordinary tools and equipment needed for your trade.
- Use tools that are safe and suitable for the work.
- Do not charge the customer for tools that remain your business property unless expressly agreed.
- Discuss material quality, quantity and price before purchase.
- Keep receipts or proof of purchase where materials are charged to the customer.
- Return unused customer-funded materials where reasonably required.
- Do not substitute materially inferior products without approval.
- Protect customer property from dust, water, debris and avoidable damage.
- Remove job-related waste where this forms part of the agreed scope.
Workmanship and service standards
You must perform accepted work with reasonable care, skill, diligence and attention to the documented scope.
Work should be fit for the agreed purpose where that purpose has been properly explained and is technically achievable.
- Follow recognised standards and appropriate manufacturer instructions.
- Do not hide defects, shortcuts or incomplete work.
- Inform the customer where an existing condition prevents the requested outcome.
- Protect finished surfaces and clean the immediate work area.
- Test the completed work where testing is appropriate and safe.
- Explain basic operation, care or limitations before leaving.
- Do not mark a job complete while an important agreed item remains outstanding.
Job records and evidence
Fixa may require evidence before, during and after a job to support accountability, payment, reviews and dispute handling.
- Capture clear before-and-after photographs where requested.
- Record material changes, customer approvals and important site findings.
- Upload receipts and relevant proof of purchase.
- Provide truthful progress updates.
- Do not manipulate photographs, timestamps, receipts or completion records.
- Do not include identity documents, private messages or unrelated customer possessions in job photographs.
- Retain relevant evidence until Fixa confirms that the job and any remedy period are closed.
Completion and customer approval
When the agreed work is complete, explain what was done and give the customer a reasonable opportunity to inspect the visible result.
Customer approval supports completion records but does not excuse concealed defects, fraud or rights that cannot legally be waived.
- Identify any remaining work clearly.
- Do not pressure the customer to approve an incomplete job.
- Submit required completion evidence promptly.
- Record any snag items or agreed return visit.
- Do not ask for an inaccurate review or completion statement.
Quality concerns and remedy obligations
If a customer raises a genuine concern that the work does not match the agreed scope or reasonable standard, you must cooperate with Fixa’s review.
Depending on the circumstances, an appropriate response may include clarification, further evidence, a return visit, correction, partial refund discussion, reassignment or independent assessment.
- Respond within the timeframe requested by Fixa.
- Do not retaliate against or intimidate a customer who raises a complaint.
- Attend an agreed remedy visit within a reasonable period.
- Correct workmanship issues for which you are responsible without charging the customer again for the same agreed work.
- You are not responsible for unrelated faults, misuse, customer-supplied defective materials or unauthorised third-party alterations.
- Where responsibility is disputed, provide evidence and allow the review process to run.
- Fixa does not promise either party a particular outcome before reviewing the facts.
Payments, fees and commission
The amount payable to you, Fixa’s commission or service fee, payment milestones and payment method will be disclosed through the job offer, confirmation or current professional fee schedule.
Do not accept a job unless you understand the amount you are expected to receive and any disclosed deduction.
- Fixa will not apply a hidden commission after you accept a job.
- Payments may be held until required completion evidence or customer confirmation is received.
- A reasonable amount may remain unresolved while a documented dispute is reviewed.
- Any refund, deduction or offset must be supported by the agreement, evidence, applicable law or a documented resolution.
- You must provide correct payment details.
- Fixa is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect information or external payment systems outside its reasonable control.
- Do not charge the customer additional undisclosed Fixa-related fees.
- Do not collect payment through an unapproved method unless Fixa has authorised it.
Cancellations and wasted costs
Tell Fixa immediately if you need to cancel an accepted job. Repeated late cancellations may affect future assignments.
Where a customer cancels after you have travelled, purchased approved materials or performed authorised work, Fixa may help determine a reasonable call-out fee, reimbursement or partial payment.
- Provide receipts or evidence of claimed costs.
- Take reasonable steps to reduce avoidable loss.
- Do not purchase expensive or non-returnable materials without required approval.
- Customer-funded materials remain subject to the agreed job and payment arrangement.
- No cancellation fee is automatically payable unless disclosed or reasonably supported by the circumstances.
Taxes, insurance and legal compliance
As an independent professional, you are responsible for understanding and meeting the tax, registration, insurance, licensing and reporting obligations that apply to your activities.
- Maintain any professional licence or registration required for your trade.
- Maintain appropriate insurance where required by law or reasonably necessary for the risk involved.
- Provide valid tax or business documentation where reasonably requested.
- Do not rely on Fixa to calculate or pay your personal tax obligations unless expressly agreed in writing.
- Notify Fixa if your legal ability to perform a service is suspended or restricted.
Privacy and confidential information
Customer names, telephone numbers, addresses, property details, photographs, access information and job records must be used only for the relevant Fixa job and legitimate follow-up.
You must follow the Fixa Privacy Policy and any reasonable data-handling instruction issued for a job.
- Do not publish a customer’s address or contact information.
- Do not use customer information for unrelated marketing.
- Do not share job information with friends, groups or social media.
- Do not store customer information longer than reasonably necessary.
- Tell Fixa promptly if a phone, document or account containing customer information is lost or compromised.
- Delete customer information when instructed and when no lawful operational reason remains to keep it.
Communication through Fixa
Material communication about scope, pricing, scheduling, changes, complaints and payment should remain coordinated through Fixa or the channel Fixa identifies.
Fixa may retain messages, call notes, photographs, timestamps and job-status records for operations, safety, payment and dispute handling.
- Do not move important agreements into unrecorded private conversations.
- Do not publicly expose customer or professional phone numbers without a proper reason and permission.
- Respond to reasonable Fixa operational messages relating to an active job.
- Keep communication clear, factual and respectful.
Reviews and professional profiles
Fixa may display your approved profile information, verification status, completed-job history, ratings, reviews and professional responses.
Reviews form part of the trust network and may influence future assignments.
- Do not offer money or discounts in exchange for a dishonest review.
- Do not threaten a customer over a rating or complaint.
- You may ask Fixa to review content that is false, abusive, discriminatory or unrelated.
- Fixa may moderate reviews and allow relevant responses.
- Fixa does not guarantee removal merely because a review is negative.
- Fixa may use de-identified performance information for internal quality improvement.
No circumvention
Fixa invests in customer acquisition, vetting, matching, communication, payment support and dispute handling.
You must not use customer information or relationships obtained through Fixa to move the current job or closely related follow-on work outside Fixa.
Unless Fixa agrees otherwise in writing, this restriction applies for 12 months after the customer was introduced to you through Fixa.
It does not apply to a genuine pre-existing customer relationship disclosed before accepting the assignment.
- Do not ask the customer to cancel the Fixa job and hire you privately.
- Do not quote a lower private price in order to avoid the agreed Fixa fee.
- Do not collect or exchange private contact details for the purpose of bypassing Fixa.
- Tell Fixa if a customer asks you to complete the Fixa job privately.
- Deliberate circumvention may result in suspension, removal and recovery of a reasonable disclosed fee, subject to applicable law.
Assistants and subcontracting
You may not transfer an assigned job to another person or bring an assistant without the approval required by Fixa and the customer.
- Disclose in advance where another person is genuinely required.
- Use only competent, trustworthy and appropriately supervised people.
- You remain responsible for the conduct and work of anyone you bring.
- Do not share customer access details with an unauthorised person.
- Fixa may require assistants or subcontractors to complete separate verification.
Conflicts, gifts and improper conduct
You must act honestly and avoid conduct that undermines Fixa, the customer or another professional.
- Do not offer or accept a bribe, kickback or secret commission.
- Disclose any personal relationship that may create a material conflict.
- Do not make false statements about another professional to obtain work.
- Do not manipulate job evidence, pricing, materials or customer approval.
- Do not use Fixa information to poach staff, customers or professionals through deception.
Complaints and investigations
Fixa may investigate customer complaints, safety concerns, fraud, harassment, payment disputes and possible breaches of this Agreement.
- Cooperate honestly and provide relevant evidence.
- Do not delete or alter records after learning of a complaint.
- Respect temporary restrictions while a serious issue is investigated.
- Fixa should consider both sides and available evidence before reaching an operational decision.
- Fixa may share information with advisers, insurers, regulators or authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required.
Warnings, suspension and removal
Fixa may warn, restrict, suspend or remove a professional where reasonably necessary to protect customers, other professionals, staff or the integrity of the network.
- Possible reasons include fraud, unsafe work, harassment, serious workmanship failure, repeated non-attendance, false documents or deliberate circumvention.
- Performance patterns and repeated unresolved complaints may affect assignments.
- Where appropriate, Fixa may request your explanation before a final decision.
- Immediate suspension may be used where there is a credible safety, fraud, security or legal risk.
- Removal does not cancel payment, remedy, confidentiality or other obligations already incurred.
- Fixa may restore access where concerns are resolved and continued participation is appropriate.
Fixa branding and platform materials
The Fixa name, logo, platform, systems, operating materials and original content belong to Fixa or its licensors.
- Do not create a fake Fixa page, profile, uniform or document.
- Do not use Fixa branding to suggest employment or authority you do not have.
- Use approved branding only for the purpose and period authorised.
- Do not copy, sell or expose private platform data or internal operating materials.
- When participation ends, stop representing yourself as an active Fixa professional.
Responsibility and liability
You remain responsible for your workmanship, conduct, negligence, damage caused by you and obligations arising from services you perform.
Fixa remains responsible for its own proven breach, negligence or unlawful conduct to the extent required by law.
Nothing in this Agreement excludes a right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- You are not responsible for pre-existing defects you did not cause and could not reasonably have identified.
- You are not responsible for damage caused solely by customer misuse, unauthorised third-party work or defective customer-supplied materials, where properly documented.
- Fixa’s assistance with a complaint does not automatically make Fixa responsible for the underlying workmanship.
- You must notify Fixa promptly about damage, injury or a serious incident connected to a Fixa job.
- Each party should take reasonable steps to reduce avoidable loss.
Claims caused by professional misconduct
To the extent permitted by law, you may be responsible for reasonable losses, claims or costs directly caused by your fraud, deliberate misconduct, unlawful conduct, serious negligence or material breach of this Agreement.
This does not make you responsible for loss caused by Fixa’s own conduct or for remote and unsupported claims.
Fixa should give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to provide relevant information before seeking recovery, except where urgent protective action is necessary.
Events outside reasonable control
Neither party is automatically responsible for delay or failure caused by events reasonably outside its control, such as severe weather, civil disturbance, major utility failure, transport disruption, government restriction or widespread system outage.
The affected party must communicate promptly and take reasonable steps to reduce disruption.
Duration and ending participation
This Agreement begins when you accept it and continues while you remain approved to receive or complete Fixa jobs.
You may stop accepting new jobs at any time. You must still complete, transfer or properly close jobs already accepted unless Fixa agrees otherwise.
Fixa may end professional participation in accordance with the suspension and removal provisions of this Agreement.
Obligations that continue
Ending participation does not remove obligations that reasonably need to continue.
- Confidentiality and customer privacy.
- Payment and accounting for completed work.
- Remedy obligations relating to previous jobs.
- No-circumvention obligations for the stated period.
- Cooperation with existing complaints or investigations.
- Responsibility for prior misconduct, damage or fraud.
Changes to this Agreement
Fixa may update this Agreement to reflect operational lessons, service changes, legal requirements or changes to the professional model.
The current version and effective date will be displayed on this page.
Where a change is material, Fixa may require you to accept the new version before receiving additional jobs.
A later version will not unfairly rewrite the payment or scope of work already completed under an earlier agreement.
Disputes and governing law
Raise professional concerns with Fixa first so that the relevant records can be reviewed and a practical resolution attempted.
Fixa may facilitate discussion but is not acting as a court or binding arbitrator unless the parties expressly agree otherwise.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, subject to any mandatory rights, employment classification or legal protection that applies under the actual circumstances.
